When taking care of your health, it’s also taking care of your region.
This year, to reinforce the importance of supporting the farmers’ markets vendors who feed us, we are lucky to have a spokesperson who has just moved to the region to reconnect with the land and local food. This summer, Stéphanie Boulay, one of the two singers from the Les Sœurs Boulay, will introduce you to the region’s farmers’ markets and inspire you by sharing her favourite gourmet finds.
“I have always been uncomfortable carrying the voices of others, because I have always wanted to express and defend the sovereignty of mine. But when the farmers’ markets approached me, I immediately said yes. Because I am a new lover of the region, a new lover of its land, and territory and what is produced there, and a lover of the people in Outaouais. Farmers’ markets are a wonderful way for me to discover products and meet local producers. Despite the pandemic and the measures in place, we feel that producers and processors want to continue to maintain a close relationship with consumers. Their expertise is solid, their knowledge is infinitely large and inspiring. I am sincerely happy and honored to participate in this campaign to promote local food and to send a message of solidarity with our local businesses”, explains Stéphanie Boulay, singer and spokesperson for the Outaouais 2020 farmers’ market season.
